Having had the pleasure of using Distinction for many years and over many different disciplines from new build to renovation, decorating and repairs, my wife and I would strongly recommend them to others who are looking for that special company who not only deliver on what they promise but do so whilst not forgetting us, the customer. We’ve used Distinction for various projects since 2005 (when the company was almost just a one man band – Gareth) – new kitchen, bathrooms, internal and external decoration and renovation works. They may not provide the lowest quote but the team are always reliable, friendly and professional providing good quality workmanship. Distinction put in a kitchen / diner extension on my 1950’s build home about 2 years ago now. From start to finish they were excellent. The only building firm that gave an itemised quotation including all parts of the build. The men were always polite, honest, and considerate to our family life and tried to minimise disruption as best they could. The build was completed to an excellent standard (they even helped me source and install my kitchen) and I’ve had so many compliments about the standard or the finish. Any (slight) issues that arose once the work was complete, was dealt with promptly and effectively. I would thoroughly recommend distinction and have already done so to many friends locally!
Gareth and the team at Distinction Property Services went above and beyond to make our house of 12 years into an fantastic home. The quality of the construction is evident throughout, and their attention to every last detail was amazing. The builders and contractors were always on time, well organised, friendly and courteous. Throughout, Distinction were really involved to make sure that the work was exactly aligned with what we needed, and snags were dealt with quickly and effectively. Although it’s a major extension, Distinction did everything they could to mimimise disruption and mess, meaning we could live in the house for most of the project. From moving our kitchen units and appliances into the dining room through to the final painting and decorating, their creative and diligent approach was really appreciated. Our kitchen – transformed from a tiny galley to a huge, well-insulated and bright space, is the highlight, though the new bedroom and ensuite run a close second! The whole house is rewired, re-plumbed and in much better condition than at the start of the project.
There were a few worries that I had generally about builders previously but all of these worries were completely unfounded. The service that Distinction gave us was more than Heavenly. All members of staff made us feel like more than just another customer. Everyone was where they said they would be at the time they said they would be. At the end of the day everything was tidy, sometimes tidier than when they started! And the builders ensured “mess” did not travel to any rooms which were not part of the extension Distinction exceeded ALL expectations for our extension, we got a number of quotes and the one we got from Distinction was by far the most detailed, so from the start we knew exactly what was, or wasn’t included, and knew there would be no hidden costs along the way. This was an extension we have dreamed of for a long time to make our house our forever home. This was the overall objective and Distinction achieved this. I’m never moving! I also feel great pride in showing off our home to friend and family and whoever comes round. The build seemed to be concentrated on getting us what we wanted with the least amount of inconvenience to our family _ For example, we kept the use of our old front door longer than expected when the builders came up with a way to allow us to keep using it until the new front door was installed in the new extension – this was a god send with 6 year old twins. I would have NO hesitation in recommending Distinction, the list of reasons why is just too long to list here in, in fact, there is not one reason why 1 would not.

The house was left clean and tidy at the end of each day and at the end of the project, re seeding the lawn was a particularly thoughtful gesture!
It was essential that we could leave the day-to-day project management to Distinction, and it was uncanny how you were able to judge those issues where it would be ok to make quick decisions while we were out of the country, and those times where we would want to get involved.
It was very pleasing to see the project finished to a high standard throughout & would have no hesitation in recommending Distinction most highly. I am looking forward to the next batch of work you will be doing for us.
My wife and I have used Distinction to do our kitchen and bedroom plus other smaller jobs and have always found them to be very helpful. When they start a job, they finish it. Their quality of work is very good and nothing is to much trouble.
Distinction did a great job for us at our house in Winterbourne Down. It was knocking the kitchen and dining room in to one large kitchen/diner, with new doorways, patio doors and a complete rewire, replaster and new kitchen units. Left things tidy every day. No quibble afterwards re any post completion issues. I can highly recommend.
Since Distinction was recommended to me several years ago I have never considered using any other builder. They have done major projects for me on 2 properties including removing walls, replacing kitchens, bathrooms and a water tank.
They are not the cheapest but they are certainly the most reliable – they don’t keep adding further costs once the job is started and they stick to agreed dates. If problems arise (which they inevitably do) they come up with solutions, some very innovative, discuss them with you and keep you informed.
Over the years I have met many of the guys. I have found them all very professional, tidy, polite and pleasant to have around (more than you can say for a lot of builders!), although I do arrange with them to do the majority of any demolition work when I am away as I trust them implicitly. I am happy to recommend them.
An excellent all round service. Personnel were punctual, polite, and couldn’t do enough to get things right. it was a pleasure to have them working on our house – not something you’d usually say about a builder!
